Relationship Advice?

I've been with my partner for about 4 years. I love him and sometimes I hate him. He can be caring and loving, and other times he is cold, distant, and verbally abusive. Is it really love when you hate someone at the same time? How do you end a relationship like this? How do you deal with the pain of breaking up?Relationship Advice?
I dont imagine breaking up can be any worse than what you're already feeling WITH him. NOTHING worthwhile is easy.

They say '; there is a fine line between love and hate'; and I for one, have often wondered who ';they '; are, cause ';they'; know everything...:)


When you say you hate him sometimes, do you really mean that you hate what he is doing or what he said, or do you actually hate him? We can hate someone's behavior, our kids, parents, friends or spouse, but do we really hate them? That is what you need to look at, and if it is the behavoir, maybe you and he can talk about things and fix the behavoir that is causing these feelings. I know it is hard for people to change, and alot of people will say that people dont change. that is true and false. If it is important enough , I beleive that people are innately good and will at least try to change. And we cant expect change to be immediate. Our superego allows us to be patient and wait for the change, again, if it is worth it.


On the other hand, if you really arent happy with this person and you really do feel feelings of hatred, then maybe you should leave the relationship. Talk to him and tell him how you feel. Dont use cliches, and a bunch of hogwash , tell him the truth.


The truth will set you free.


It will be hard, 4 years is a long time..but life is too short to be unhappy.

If you love him can you find forgiveness and toleration to his act? he would not change in one day and you should know his character from the first day.
